“U.S. trade talks with China are going good “, according Trump.

Trade talks between the US and China are going well with President Donald Trump. But he added he could not say whether a final deal would be reached.

As he sat down to meet Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, Trump told reporters: “We are doing very well with China’s talks. So let’s get what we need to do, and I think we’re doing it relatively quickly.”

“If it is not an agreement that is a great deal to us, then we will not do it.” He added, “How much we will find a final deal, I would never want to say.”

Though Trump decided not to raise tariffs last month for Chinese goods again the barriers remain. This gave a nod to the success of negotiations so far.

No date has been set and no conversation has been held between their trading teams in more than two weeks, but Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are expected to hold a summit on President Mar-a-Lago’s Florida property afterwards months.

A person familiar with the issue told Reuters that ” were rumblings” for a possible meeting late next month. While Bloomberg, quoting unidentified sources, announced on Thursday that a meeting between the two is more likely to happen in April./Investing.com
