SoftBank is trying to attract investment in a second mammoth fund, with Vision Fund portfolio company WeWork withdrawing its initial public offering and valuations on other major investments fall, Reuters reported last week.
Abu Dhabi State Fund Mubadala Investment Co has not yet decided whether to invest in the second large-scale technology investment fund, SoftBank, one of its senior executives said on Tuesday.
“We are evaluating it, we will continue to evaluate it,” said Ibrahim Ajami, head of enterprises, at a conference in Bloomberg. “I can’t answer yes or no if we are going to invest in Vision Fund 2.”
Mubadala invested $ 15 billion in SoftBank’s $ 100 Billion Vision Fund, and was expected to invest in SoftBank’s Vision Fund 2 in the fourth quarter of 2019, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters last month./Investing.com
