Prime service in Brazil’s challenging market

In an effort to oust established rivals in e-commerce, including Luiza Magazine and Mercado Livre, Amazon is offering Prime subscribers unlimited free nationwide shipping and a maximum 48-hour delivery time in over 90 municipalities for goods ranging from clothes to electronics.

As Amazon looks set to compete with streaming services like Netflix, Subscribers will also have access to digital movies, music and books and magazines on the Prime platform. Inc. said it will launch its premier subscription service in Brazil on Tuesday as it seeks to broaden its footprint in Latin America’s largest economy, where it has fought stiff local competition.

Prime launch represents Amazon’s boldest move in Brazil, where it launched in 2012 as a book seller before adding other products to the platform.

Amid the challenges the US giant had to overcome before launching more products and services, Hasshte has sought to bring action against acting, with analysts talking logistically.

Reuters told Jamamil Ghani, Vice President of Amazon International, that “We went as fast as possible and as slow as necessary.”

The Brazilian Prime Package will cost 9.90 reais per month, or 89.00 reais per year./
